The position: Marketing Associate

StratoDem Analytics is currently seeking a Marketing Associate who will contribute from Day One to help build marketing processes that provide effective outcomes from incoming inquiries and generate awareness to drive new inquiries. This position is for someone seeking a challenging, growth-oriented environment with highly-collaborative work.

StratoDem Analytics is a data science venture producing next-generation economic and demographic analytics and forecasting on a hyper-local level. StratoDem Analytics helps some of the largest real estate organizations and private equity funds in the US make better portfolio-level and business decisions based on a fundamentally better understanding of local-market economic risk and demographic shifts.

Location: Boston, MA; Providence, RI; or Albany, NY

StratoDem Analytics is based in downtown Boston near South Station. This position may be available at satellite locations in Providence, RI and Albany, NY.

Responsibilities

This role will involve:

  • Working directly with company founders to plan and execute marketing strategy and systems (e.g., direct mail, media, industry events, inbound response management, lead tracking, database oversight, internal AI-driven tools)
  • Learning and sharing new market information with the StratoDem Analytics team (e.g., media tracking, industry research, online research and scraping)
  • Delivering new and improved marketing outputs and outcomes each and every month
  • Building processes to measure organizational and personal effectiveness in driving optimal marketing outcomes
  • Growing expertise in either a marketing communications role, or a technical marketing role, or a sales and marketing role, depending on incoming strengths and desired areas for personal development

Qualifications

Key personal characteristics include:

  • High comfort level with a technologically enabled environment (coding not required for this position, but high comfort with technology is important given our work)
  • High comfort level in a high-performance environment (this is not a brutal round-the-clock workplace, but our clients and employees have high expectations for the industry’s best work coming out of StratoDem Analytics)
  • High comfort level in an algorithmically driven environment (this position doesn’t code the algorithms, but we think and operate systematically to deliver stronger product and outcomes week by week)
  • High comfort level working independently and collaboratively, side-by-side and remotely (depending on the candidate’s location, one of their key collaborators will be in a different location)
  • High comfort level with personal growth (this position might not fit with someone looking for easy mastery, but fits well for someone who embraces and seeks feedback from colleagues and the marketplace, then constantly looks for ways to build on that experience and knowledge)

In addition, the following experiences are not required, but would be viewed a plus:

  • Background in marketing communications or journalism is not necessary, but would be a plus for those wanting to accelerate into a marketing communications driven role
  • Background in coding is not necessary, but would be a plus for those wanting to accelerate into a more technically driven marketing role
  • Background in economics, a real estate development firm, or an enterprise software company is not necessary, but would be a plus

Other notes

  • Compensation is competitive and will be determined by the candidate's match with the job qualifications and the type of work situation the candidate is pursuing (e.g., full time or part time). The specifics of this position will be crafted around the specific strengths of the candidate and their desired areas for personal development. As a result, there’s a lot of flexibility in how this position can be structured, for example, location (i.e., Boston, Providence or Albany); specific areas of focus (e.g., marketing communications, technical marketing, sales and marketing); areas for personal development (e.g., technical, publishing, client engagement, growth with a venture); hours (e.g., super-deep immersion in a high-trajectory venture, or a position with flexible hours to accommodate personal needs with permanent part-time flexibility as one option). But we’re much more likely to identify a potential match if you’re able to respond with specific details about relevant qualifications and interests.
  • We’ll train for specific skills, as long as the core characteristics are in place. Bottom line: We’re looking for highly coachable talent that can grow as the company grows.
  • To apply, send a cover note and resume to jobs@stratodem.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
